The problem is what the title suggests, this problem used to occur before however there was a period I did not use my pc for a few weeks and I realised the problem dissapeared since then but it has now came back.

I have a usb port in the front of my pc case near the power button where I connect charging cables for my mouse or headphones when they are low, however when I connect them my pc instantly blue screens, the light near my ram sticks turns red and my pc reboots itself. It is very frustrating as it occurs everytime without fail.

It sounds like you're experiencing a bug check (blue screen) error when connecting USB devices to your PC. This issue can be caused by several factors, including faulty hardware, incompatible drivers, or issues with the USB ports themselves. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve the issue:

    1. Check for Faulty Devices: Open Windows Device Manager and look for any devices marked with an exclamation point (!). If you find any, update or remove the related drivers.
    2. Update Drivers: Ensure that all your USB drivers are up to date. You can do this through Device Manager or by visiting the manufacturer's website for your motherboard or USB devices.
    3. Test Different USB Ports: Try connecting your devices to different USB ports, especially those on the back of the PC, to see if the problem persists.
    4. Check Hardware Compatibility: Make sure that any new hardware you have connected is compatible with your version of Windows. Check the specifications for your USB devices to ensure they are compliant.
    5. Run Hardware Diagnostics: Use any hardware diagnostics tools provided by your system manufacturer to check for issues with your hardware.
    6. Check for Memory Issues: Run the Windows Memory Diagnostics tool to check for any memory-related problems that could be causing the blue screen errors.
    7. Look for Critical Errors: Check the system log in the Event Viewer for any error messages that could help identify the device or driver causing the issue.

If the problem continues after trying these steps, it may be worth considering a more thorough investigation of your hardware or seeking professional assistance.

Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

Blue screen issues can have several reasons. It is necessary to investigate.

Please see if your computer created minidump files.

    These files are in C:\Windows\Minidump.

(If you don't have a Minidump folder, check if it is in the plural Minidumps.)

Copy any files you have to your desktop and store them in a ZIP file. Then, upload the ZIP file to the cloud (OneDrive), choose to share it, and get the link.

Then, post the link to the ZIP file here so I can have a look.

    I await your reply.
