I'm using an admin account, but I'm unable to view or delete a registry key. I also cannot view or modify permissions or view or change the current owner. How can I take ownership of this key and/or delete it?
Open an admin command prompt and run these commands.
set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
devmgmt.msc
From the View menu select "Show Hidden Devices". Find the device, right click, and select "Uninstall Device".
I still want to delete this registry key :c

Hello can you try out these steps and see if that is helpful
Run regedit as Administrator
Browse to the registry key in question
Right click on the registry folder and choose Permissions
Check the box next to Full Control for Everyone click OK

Look at the registry key that he is trying to modify. There is a reason that his account does not have access. Windows does not want users messing around with device definitions in the registry.
He should be using Device Manager to remove unwanted devices.
