My primary Hotmail alias was deprovisioned during sign-in alias changes.

Incoming mail now hard-bounces with 550 mailbox unavailable.

The address is reserved and cannot be re-added.

I need the Hotmail alias reattached to my existing mailbox.

Could you please confirm whether you accidentally removed your primary alias while changing the sign-in alias on your Microsoft account?

According to the Microsoft documentation, if you remove an alias that ends with @outlook.com or @hotmail.com, you are permanently deleting that email address (alias) from your account. It cannot be added back as an alias or associated with any other Microsoft account.
