Hello,

I'm trying to cancel my Dad's Microsoft 365 Subscription.

Unfortunately, he has dementia, has no computer, and has no way of log-in onto his account.

He has recently been billed for another 12 months (which is how we found out about the subscription).

How do I cancel this for him ?

Thanks.

To cancel a Microsoft 365 subscription for your father who has dementia and cannot log in, you have a couple of options:

    1. Legal Process: You may need to follow the legal process to claim ownership of his account. This can be complex and may require documentation to prove your relationship and his condition. You can find more information on how to proceed with this by visiting the Microsoft support page regarding accessing accounts when someone has died or is incapacitated.
    2. Cancel through Payment Method: An alternative and potentially simpler option is to contact his credit card issuer or bank to stop future payments. This way, you can prevent further charges without needing to deal with the Microsoft account directly.

Unfortunately, without access to the account, canceling through the usual online methods will be challenging due to Microsoft's strict account security policies.

    Hello,

Gaining access on another person's account is actually a legal process you have to go through. Microsoft explains it here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/accessing-outlook-com-onedrive-and-other-microsoft-services-when-someone-has-died-ebbd2860-917e-4b39-9913-212362da6b2f

This process can take time as you have to gather necessary paperwork and court order, etc. In reality, it might be easier to cancel the payment from the bank or credit card company instead.
