it says on my settings page that my windows 11 home is now out of service (i am currently running on 22h2 version of windows home, i have the get latest updates box set to on, but it will not download, i tried to find the new version on windows 11 installation assistant but that says that my laptop does not have the requirements to run windows 11, how is that possible if it is already running on windows 11 home? i cannot seem to find a way around this and nothing seems to be helping me out online.

Any help would be great as i like to keep my laptop up to date.

thanks in advance

    Hello

Version 22H2 definitely is a discontinued version., You are missing 23H2, 24H2 in between because the latest now is 25H2.

When a version is discontinued, updates are no longer pushed through Windows Updates in Settings. You can try to run the Installation Assistant tool to see if it lets you update, but with two versions' gap in between, that may not help. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11

If the installation tool won't push the update through, you will have to back up your files and do a clean install.

The following steps should be done on a working Windows computer:

Download the Windows Media Creation Tool from Microsoft's official website. https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11 click on the "download now" button under "Create Windows 11 Installation Media"

Run the tool and select "Create installation media for another PC."

Choose "USB flash drive" as the media to use for the installation and select "Next."

Connect a USB flash drive with at least 8 GB of free space to your computer.

Select the USB flash drive you want to use, and then select "Next."

The tool will then download the required files and create the installation media.

    =====================================================

Now these steps will  be done on your problematic computer:

Go to the computer's BIOS boot menu to have it boot from the USB drive.

Follow the on-screen instructions to install Windows 11, making sure to choose "Custom install" and select the option to delete all existing partitions.

Once the installation is complete, you'll have a clean installation of Windows 11 on your computer.

It seems that your current version of Windows 11 (22H2) has reached its end of servicing, which means it will no longer receive updates. To continue receiving updates and maintain security, you need to upgrade to a newer version of Windows 11.

If the Windows 11 Installation Assistant indicates that your laptop does not meet the requirements for the latest version, it could be due to hardware limitations that were not applicable when you initially installed Windows 11. Microsoft has specific system requirements for each version, and sometimes these requirements can change with newer updates.

Here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue:

    1. Check for Updates: Go to Settings > Windows Update and click on "Check for updates" to see if any updates are available.
    2. Manual Update Options: If no updates are showing, you can try using the Windows 11 Installation Assistant again or download the latest ISO from the Microsoft Software Download page.
    3. Contact Support: If you continue to experience issues, consider reaching out to Microsoft Support for further assistance. They can help troubleshoot the specific requirements and issues with your device.

Make sure to back up your data before attempting any major updates to avoid potential data loss.
