Hello,

I was added to an organization in Microsoft Teams with a suspicious name (“Important Notice: Moderator note: personal info removed renewal payment was detected”). I didn’t accept the invite, but I’m unable to leave the organization, and there’s no “Manage Organization” option.

Here’s a screenshot of the issue:

    Dear @MOHAMED AMINE TAHIRI,

Thank you for contacting the Microsoft 365 Q&A Forum Community Support team. I understand how alarming it is to see a suspicious organization like "Important Notice: McAfee™ Ultimate" appear in your Microsoft Teams account.

Since you cannot find the "Manage Organization" option directly in the Teams app, I will help you remove yourself using the Microsoft My Account portal, which is the official method for managing external associations.

You can usually remove these external associations yourself without needing an administrator's help by following these steps:

    1. Open your web browser and go directly to the Organizations page
    2. Use the same Microsoft account (personal or work) that is showing the suspicious organization in Teams.
    3. Under the "Other organizations you collaborate with" section, look for the suspicious name.
    4. Click the Leave or Leave organization link next to that specific name.
    5. A confirmation message will appear. Select Leave again to finalize the process.

Note: It may take up to 24–72 hours for the organization to completely disappear from your Teams interface. If it still appears after that time, try signing out of Teams and signing back in.

For more detail step by step please follow this guide: Leave an Organization - Microsoft Entra External ID | Microsoft Learn and Reduce the attack surface for Microsoft Teams - Microsoft Defender for Office 365 | Microsoft Learn

In Microsoft Teams, if you haven't yet switched your view to that specific guest organization, the management settings for it often won't appear in your main "Home" settings menu. The My Account portal bypassed this by showing all tenants linked to your identity regardless of your current Teams view.

I hope this helps you secure your account and remove that unwanted organization. Please let me know if the "Leave" button is grayed out or missing in the portal, as that may require a different technical approach.
