To import a folder from Outlook Classic into New Outlook, you can follow these steps:

    1. Export the folder from Outlook Classic to a .pst file:
      • Open Outlook Classic and select the folder you want to export.
      • Go to File > Open & Export > Import/Export.
      • Choose Export to a file and click Next.
      • Select Outlook Data File (.pst) and click Next.
      • Select the folder you want to export, ensure Include subfolders is checked, and click Next.
      • Choose a location to save the .pst file, enter a file name, and click Finish.
    2. Import the .pst file into New Outlook:
      • Open New Outlook and go to File > Open & Export > Import/Export.
      • Select Import from another program or file and click Next.
      • Choose Outlook Data File (.pst) and click Next.
      • Browse to the .pst file you created and select it, then click Open.
      • Select Next and choose to import items into the same folder in your mailbox.
      • Click Finish to complete the import process.

By following these steps, you should be able to successfully import a folder from Outlook Classic into New Outlook.

    Hi Irene Ramsay,

In New Outlook, unfortunately there isn’t a full “import one folder” wizard like in Classic. New Outlook opens a PST and then you move/drag the emails into your mailbox.

Note: Calendar/Contacts in a PST aren’t accessible in New Outlook at the moment.

Option 1 (Best if it’s already in your mailbox)

If that folder is under your mailbox (your email address) in Classic (not under “Outlook Data File”):

    • In Outlook (Classic): right-click the folder > Move Folder (or drag it) to where you want it under your mailbox.
    • Open New Outlook and let it sync. The folder should show up automatically.

Option 2 (If the folder is in a local PST / “Outlook Data File”)

    1. Outlook (Classic): export just that folder
    • File > Open & Export > Import/Export > Export to a file > Outlook Data File (.pst)
    • Select the folder (check Include subfolders if needed) > Finish.
    1. New Outlook: open the PST
    • Settings (gear) > Files > Outlook Data Files > Add file. If you don’t see Files, look under Settings > General (Microsoft moves labels around in some builds).
    1. Move the mail into your mailbox
    • Open the folder inside the PST, select messages, then move or drag-and-drop into your mailbox folder.

For reference: Import email, contacts, and calendar from an Outlook .pst file

For reference: Export emails, contacts, and calendar items to Outlook using a .pst file

Note: For large folders, wait until the PST finishes loading, then move emails in smaller batches (e.g., a few hundred at a time) to avoid the app looking “stuck” while it’s syncing/uploading.

Note: In New Outlook, PST files can only be opened for email access. Emails must be manually moved into your mailbox, and calendar or contact items in the PST are not yet supported.

Please let me know if this proves useful to you or if you would like further assistance.

I'm looking forward to your reply.
