Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

    1. Could you please share the exact error message you see after entering your Microsoft account email address and password on the Office application sign-in screen?
    2. Also, are you using a Windows or a macOS device?

If you're encountering an error when trying to log in to your Microsoft Office 365 subscription, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Check Your Account: Ensure that you are using the correct email address and password associated with your Microsoft 365 subscription. If you're unsure, you may want to reset your password.
    2. Sign Out and Sign Back In: Open a Microsoft 365 app (like Word or Excel), click on your name or profile picture at the top, select Sign out, and then sign back in with your Work or School account.
    3. Run as Administrator: Close all Microsoft 365 apps. Right-click on the app icon and select Run as administrator. This can sometimes resolve activation issues.
    4. Update Microsoft 365: Ensure that your Microsoft 365 apps are up to date. Open an app, go to File > Account, and check for updates under Update options.
    5. Check for Subscription Issues: If your subscription was purchased through an organization, contact your Microsoft 365 administrator to ensure that your account has the necessary licenses assigned.
    6. Use the Activation Troubleshooter: You can run the Microsoft 365 activation troubleshooter to help resolve activation issues. Make sure you're using the same Windows device where Microsoft 365 is installed.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to consult Microsoft support for further assistance.
