I have done all of that except contacting my email provider.
IMAP email broke Outlook, can't get it working again
I have been trying to get my IMAP emails workings for days. Copilot took me through every possible step that led to bigger and bigger problems, ultimately I had to reinstall 365 (Family) and create an outlook.com email account, set up a new profile, install an IMAP email with a new pst, then drag and drop all the folders and emails from the old pst (the one that kept crashing Outlook_) into the outlook.com . But the only thing that is receiving emails on my PC Outlook is the outlook.com address. None of my IMAP addresses receive. They can SEND. They work on my phone both ways.
All I want is to make my IMAP accounts work in Outlook classic on my PC with my many folders and rules and emails.
I just learned today of a problem with POP addresses and I assume this applies to me. I tried to install the patch, but my windows update says I'm up to date.
I am exhausted from fighting with this for 5 days and I can't see how to fix this. I am literally on the verge of tears. Two days ago I nearly threw a stapler through my monitor.
Please help.

Q&A Assist2026-01-28T01:35:57.2266667+00:00 AI generated content. This question contains an answer created with AI from Q&A Assist. Learn moreTo resolve the issue with your IMAP accounts not receiving emails in Outlook, you can try the following steps:
- Check IMAP Settings: Ensure that the IMAP settings (incoming server, port, and security type) are correctly configured in Outlook. For most email providers, the incoming server should be set to port 993 with SSL enabled.
- Check Rules and Filters: Sometimes, rules can inadvertently divert incoming emails. Check if there are any rules set up that might be moving emails to another folder or deleting them.
- Recreate the IMAP Account: If the above steps do not work, consider removing the IMAP account from Outlook and then re-adding it. This can help reset any misconfigurations.
- Update Outlook: Ensure that your Outlook is fully updated. Sometimes, issues can arise from outdated software. Check for updates in the Microsoft 365 settings.
- Check for Conflicting Software: If you have any third-party antivirus or firewall software, they might be interfering with Outlook's ability to receive emails. Temporarily disable them to see if that resolves the issue.
- Contact Email Provider: If the problem persists, it may be worth reaching out to your email provider to ensure there are no issues on their end, especially since you mentioned that the accounts work on your phone.
- Repair Outlook: You can try repairing your Office installation. Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features, select Microsoft Office, and then choose Change > Repair.
If you continue to experience issues, you might want to consider creating a new Outlook profile as a last resort, which you've already done, but ensure that the IMAP accounts are set up correctly in this new profile.
