Window Defender Security Update crashes software

After install, Microsoft Defender Antivirus Update KB2267602 Version 1.443.828.0 corrupts our software package PPC Server III Version 3.1.0. I have had to revert to a restore point and reload our software 6 times in three days. I have stopped automatic updates. It has also made the computer that it's on go into shutdown mode and has trouble restarting. Since stopping the update, the computer has run just fine.

    I have already taken the above steps. Our software is legacy and does not have any current updates. I will contact our supplier with questions to resolve this issue, but it seems to me this is something that Microsoft should address.
