After installing Boom 3D Bluetooth speakers, I can't return to my system speakers, even though I uninstalled Boom 3D. Sound settings still show Boom 3D as the Default Output device.

    Hello Bobby C,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Regarding your sound issue. I'd like to ask a few things to better understand the situation.

    • May I know if your computer default device is currently in the list of output device?
    • Please open the Control Panel and select "Sound", can you please check if you can see your default speaker in this.

If possible, please send me a photo of these so I can check for you. However, please remember to remove all personal information before posting.

    I'm waiting for your reply.

To reset your output speakers to default after uninstalling Boom 3D, follow these steps:

    1. Open Sound Settings: Right-click on the sound icon in the system tray and select "Sounds" or "Sound settings".
    2. Playback Tab: In the Sound window, go to the "Playback" tab.
    3. Select Default Device: You should see a list of audio devices. Right-click on your desired output speakers (e.g., "Speakers" or "Headphones") and select "Set as Default Device". If you want to set it as the default communication device as well, you can also select "Set as Default Communication Device".
    4. Apply Changes: Click "OK" to apply the changes.
    5. Check Device Manager: If the speakers still do not appear, check Device Manager to ensure that the audio drivers are properly installed and functioning. You may need to reinstall the audio drivers if they are missing or not working correctly.
    6. Restart Your Computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can help in recognizing the changes made to the audio settings.

If you continue to experience issues, consider running the "Playing Audio troubleshooter" from the Settings app under System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
