When reviewing and editing a document, I can't make it show deletions on the right margin or show additions highlighted in text

The AI bot would be on the right track... If you were using WORD FOR WINDOWS. Your message indicates that to not be the case but it doesn't specify the desktop [locally installed] Office version number or whether you're using the Word Online web app. Please provide that information as well as the specific macOS version you're using Those factors can make a difference.

if the following doesn't resolve the issue in the desktop program:

First, be sure All Markup is selected in the Display for Review list in the Tracking group on the Review tab.
In order for deletions to be shown in the Markup Area the Markup Options in the Tracking group on the Review tab must be set to Show Revisions in Balloons.
Insertions are not shown in the Markup Area. Neither are they highlighted in the body of the document. They're indicated in place by the Markup settings in the Tools> Track Changes dialog. The dialog also can be accessed by choosing Preferences in the Markup Options list.

Do you have any idea why this reply should be "under review"? They never give a reason so there's no chance of avoiding the same violation in the future. I can see absolutely nothing which vioates the C-of-C.

Bob, sometimes the Q&A spam filter is to blame, but it happens that forum members report messages as (suspected) spam. When a report is made and no good reason can be identified, the "review" will be cleared quickly by a moderator.
