Setting up a new laptop. Already have Microsoft 365 and Outlook on prior laptop. Have previously used Classic Outlook and would like to continue with this on new laptop. I use an "outside" Yahoo email address that is connected by IMAP. Would like to be able to sync my Outlook calendar, contacts, tasks, etc. across devices (laptops and iPhone) as well as my Yahoo email. Can't find solutions in how to set this up. Thank you.

To sync your Outlook calendar, contacts, tasks, and Yahoo email across multiple devices, follow these detailed steps:

    1. Set Up Your Yahoo Email in Outlook:
      • Open Outlook on your new laptop.
      • Go to File > Add Account.
      • Enter your Yahoo email address and click Connect.
      • Enter your Yahoo password when prompted and complete the setup. This will allow you to access your Yahoo emails via IMAP, ensuring that your emails are synced across devices.
    2. Sync Your Calendar and Contacts:
      • Using Outlook.com: If you have an Outlook.com account, you can link your Yahoo email to it. This allows you to manage your calendar and contacts through Outlook.com, which can then sync with your Outlook application and mobile devices. To link your Yahoo account:
        • Sign in to your Outlook.com account.
        • Go to Settings > View all Outlook settings > Sync email.
        • Under Connected accounts, select Gmail or Other email accounts and follow the prompts to add your Yahoo account.
      • Third-Party Sync Tools: Consider using third-party applications like Sync2 or AkrutoSync. These tools can help you sync Outlook data directly with your iPhone, including calendars and contacts.
    3. Using iCloud for Contacts and Calendar:
      • If you want to sync your Outlook contacts and calendar with your iPhone, you can export your Outlook data to iCloud. Here’s how:
        • Export your Outlook contacts and calendar to a CSV file.
        • Go to iCloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID.
        • Click on Contacts and then select Import vCard to upload your contacts.
        • For calendars, go to Calendar in iCloud.com, and use the Settings gear icon to import your calendar file.
    4. Install the Outlook App on Your iPhone:
      • Download and install the Outlook app from the App Store on your iPhone.
      • Sign in with your Yahoo account to access your emails, and it will also sync your calendar and contacts if set up correctly.
    5. Check Synchronization Settings:
      • Ensure that your synchronization settings are correctly configured in both Outlook and on your iPhone.
      • In Outlook, go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings, select your Yahoo account, and check that IMAP is enabled.
      • On your iPhone, go to Settings > Mail > Accounts and ensure that your Yahoo account is set up to sync Mail, Contacts, and Calendars.

By following these steps, you should be able to successfully sync your Outlook data across your devices while continuing to use Classic Outlook on your new laptop. This setup allows you to access your Yahoo email, calendar, and contacts seamlessly across all your devices.

Hi Ken, to sync everything across devices, add your Yahoo email to Outlook on your new laptop using IMAP for email only. Calendars, contacts, and tasks won’t sync through IMAP, so move them into your Microsoft 365 mailbox. Then, on your iPhone, sign in to the Outlook app with the same Microsoft 365 account. Your Microsoft 365 email, calendar, contacts, and tasks will sync automatically across all devices, while Yahoo email stays in Outlook.
