I am currently in a dreadful loop where I'm trying (unsuccessful) to use the Authenticator app to get into my 365 and Office account. When I'm in the app it asks for authentication, that i can't access. Same thing happens online. I'm an administrator and still can't get anywhere - to support, any account changes, etc as you have to get through the authenticator first. I'm stonewalled with no options.

    Hi John,

If you have a Microsoft 365 Business account, consider contacting Microsoft. They would authenticate your account and provide a password Reset link:

It seems you are facing a frustrating situation where the Microsoft Authenticator app is not allowing you to log into your Microsoft 365 and Office account. Here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue:

    1. Reach Out to Microsoft Support: Since you are the sole administrator and cannot access your account, it's essential to contact Microsoft support directly. When you call, clearly explain that you are the only admin and need help with resetting your authentication method. Follow the IVR prompts to connect with the right support team.
    2. Create a Temporary Account: If contacting support proves difficult, consider signing up for a trial Microsoft 365 tenant. This will enable you to access the Admin Center and submit a support ticket to the Data Protection team regarding your original account.
    3. Use Effective Prompts: When speaking with support, use these prompts to navigate the system effectively:
      • Confirm that you are a business email user.
      • State that you are an administrator.
      • Indicate that you need a service request to reset your MFA.
    4. Prepare Documentation: Have all necessary account details ready, such as your phone number, email, and any other relevant information for identity verification.

By following these steps, you should be able to regain access to your account. If you encounter further issues, persistence in reaching out to support is crucial, as they can assist you with resetting your MFA settings.
