Keyboard not automatically entering terminal when running python scripts

So I am trying to find a setting to turn on that automatically moves my cursor into the terminal to type inputs for my Python script, but I can't find anything. I swear on my old computer, it used to automatically do this so I never had to click into the terminal before typing my inputs. It seems like there should definitely be an option to put you into the terminal automatically whenever I run a script.

    Hi, @Michael Krinsky

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

I did not find any relevant settings in Visual Studio. After searching, I found this potentially useful document.
By the way, what is the version of Visual Studio you used before, and have you installed related extensions?

    Sincerely,
    Peng
