Hi.

I have purchased a new PC with Windows 11 Home on it.

I have to connect an older EPSON scanner and needs to install an EPSON driver (exe-file)

I need to exit the S-mode but when I try to (in Windows Store) I get the message

"Et eller andet gik galt, og vi kunne ikke starte opgraderingen"

in danish.

I have checked that the windows is registered under my Microsoft account (PII Removed)

I have also done a full reset of the PC without any luck.

How can I see what is missing?

Regards,

Poul Gehrke

    Hi, good day!

    • Can you check if your date and time are set correctly?

Please let me know if you have tried the method below.

    • Make sure your account is not connected to school/work.
    • Make sure to install all available and pending windows updates for your device.
    • Reset the Microsoft Store cache Press the Windows Logo Key + R to open the Run dialog box, type wsreset.exe and then select OK. Note: A blank Command Prompt window will open, and after about ten seconds the window will close, and Microsoft Store will open automatically.

After that, please check the support article in the link below on How to Switch out of S mode.

To exit S mode in Windows 11, follow these steps:

    1. Open the Microsoft Store: Click on the Start menu and search for the Microsoft Store.
    2. Search for "Switch out of S mode": In the Microsoft Store, use the search bar to find the option to switch out of S mode.
    3. Follow the prompts: If you see the option, click on it and follow the instructions to switch out of S mode.

If you encounter the error message "Et eller andet gik galt, og vi kunne ikke starte opgraderingen," it indicates that something went wrong during the process. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

    • Check your internet connection: Ensure that your PC is connected to the internet, as this process requires an active connection.
    • Sign in with a Microsoft account: Make sure you are signed in with a Microsoft account that is linked to your Windows license.
    • Try again later: Sometimes, the Microsoft Store might be experiencing issues. Wait for a while and try the process again.
    • Reset the Microsoft Store: You can reset the Microsoft Store by going to Settings > Apps > Apps & features, finding Microsoft Store, and selecting "Advanced options" to reset it.

If none of these steps work, consider reaching out to Microsoft Support for further assistance.
