I have created a table but I don't seem to be able to fix some unwanted formating behaviours in some column.

My table is 3 columns (for ever) I want Times Roman 14 colour Automatic as a standard. But sometimes I get different font sizes and 2nd and 3rd columns are in red.
I read so many ways to go about it. AI gave me some tips (that did not work) and explained that there are many areas (sometimes out of Word) that affects my choice...
MS seems to say that all you need to do is Open your document, go to the font group, click the little arrow at the bottom of it to open the selection choices.
Then, once you're happy with these choices (as mine above)
Save/OK twice... (after you selected 'This Document or All of them)
I can press ok once but not twice? There is not other OK to press.

So I did this, even restarted Word, but my fonts are still red in the last two collumns and the first one often gives me a bold black font.
So, What am I missing?

Thank you Stephan, yes it's MS word in W11.
I just saw 'Clear all fomatting' Which I remember is in the font group as a little rubber (as if the words would not be clear enough?)
So, in the cell it works but not in the next ones below.

Then I did it in collumn. But I have 6 pages of data and often I have text I use different style and colour as I needed to do it. And those are cleared also wich I want to keep the way they are.
So I need the fix only for the continuation of my ongoing table.

Why it happened I have no idea and it is annoying

    Is this Word for Windows?

Table styles let you define the formatting differently for different rows or columns. In the Modify Style dialog box, look at the Apply formatting to drop down.

When it comes to Word and text formatting in tables, the first and crucial step is to ensure that the document defaults match the corresponding settings in the Normal style. The quickest way to accomplish this is to set font properties in the Font dialog box (Ctrl+D) and then use the Set as Default button. Existing documents must be dealt with one by one; use the "This document only" option when prompted.

It sounds like you're experiencing persistent formatting issues in your Word table. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the unwanted formatting behaviors:

    1. Clear Formatting: Select the text in the problematic columns and use the "Clear All Formatting" option (usually represented by an eraser icon) in the Home tab. This can help reset any unwanted formatting.
    2. Check Styles: Ensure that there are no conflicting styles applied to your table. Sometimes, styles can override your font settings. You can check the styles in the Styles pane and make sure the correct style is applied.
    3. Set Default Font: Go to the Font dialog box (by clicking the small arrow in the Font group on the Home tab), set your desired font and size, and then click on "Set As Default". Make sure to select "This Document Only" or "All Documents based on the Normal template" as needed.
    4. Table Properties: Right-click on the table and select "Table Properties". Check the settings under the "Row" and "Cell" tabs to ensure there are no specific formatting options set that could be causing the issues.
    5. Inspect for Conditional Formatting: If your document is linked to any external data sources or if there are conditional formatting rules applied, these could also affect the appearance of your table.
    6. Restart Word: If you haven't already, try completely closing Word and reopening it to see if the changes take effect.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider checking for any updates to Microsoft Word or reinstalling the application if the problem persists.
