Hello, So my brothers microsoft account was hacked into a month ago, took me some time to learn this fact, and the email was changed to another email by whoever it was that hacked into it. the only info I know is it was hacked by some email of ri* * * * *@gmail.com since microsoft wont tell us the email for it. I have tried to reveiw account, attempted the recovery tool, attempted sign in, password resets, the lot. and it all keeps saying my brothers email is not found, because obviously his email was changed by whoever this hacker was and I cannot find a way to get the account back since none of the forms will let me submit anything because the email was changed so its no longer attached to the email. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, I’m Virginia a fellow Windows user.

Please note we’re not Microsoft but fellow users like yourself & have no access to accounts.

    Try recovering your account here:

    Hacked:

    https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/how-to-recover-a-hacked-or-compromised-microsoft-account-24ca907d-bcdf-a44b-4656-47f0cd89c245

    Or:

    Can’t sign in:

    https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/you-can-t-sign-in-to-your-microsoft-account-475c9b5c-8c25-49f1-9c2d-c64b7072e735

You can try also https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact & choose Account Recovery.

If none of the above work then you’ll require the account recovery form:

    https://account.live.com/acsr

Please note if you have 2/multi factor authentication active on your account then you cannot use the form to recover the account.

If you’re successful in changing the details then you may find that the account is limited for 30 days, this is a security feature & cannot be circumvented.

Please be aware that as the email address has been changed to that of the hacker &/or 2fa/mfa has been enabled then usually there’s nothing which can be done. You would need to create a new account & request that Microsoft transfer any purchases & subscriptions to the new account.

To request a transfer of purchases & subscriptions contact Microsoft here:

If your brother's Microsoft account has been hacked and the email associated with it has been changed, the recovery process can be challenging. Here are some steps you can take:

    1. Use the Microsoft Account Recovery Form: If you haven't already, try using the official Microsoft account recovery form. However, you mentioned that it says the account does not exist, which can happen if the email was changed.
    2. Contact Microsoft Support: Since the recovery tool isn't working, your best option may be to contact Microsoft Support directly. Explain the situation and provide any information you have about the account, such as previous passwords, purchase history, or any other details that can help verify ownership.
    3. Check for Linked Services: If the account is linked to any services like Minecraft, consider reaching out to those services' support teams as they may have additional recovery options available.
    4. Monitor for Suspicious Activity: Keep an eye on any suspicious activity related to the account or the email that was changed. If you notice any unauthorized transactions or communications, report them immediately.

Unfortunately, if the hacker has changed all recovery information and you cannot access the recovery form, it may be difficult to regain access without direct intervention from Microsoft.
