Do you have a Microsoft 365 subscription?

Go to your personal Microsoft account https://account.live.com > Services, is the subscription listed here? If so, is it still active, not expired?

If you are trying to print a Word document attached to an email, save the attachment to your hard disk first. Then open it and print.

To determine if your Microsoft 365 account is active and resolve the issue with Word not allowing you to edit or print documents, you can follow these troubleshooting steps:

    1. Check Your Subscription: Ensure that your Microsoft 365 subscription is active. You can do this by signing into your account at the Microsoft 365 Admin Center or checking your subscription status in your Microsoft account settings.
    2. Sign Out and Sign Back In: Open Word, select your name or profile picture at the top, then sign out. After signing out, sign back in using your Work or School account, not a personal Microsoft account.
    3. Check User Licenses: If you are part of an organization, ensure that your user license is assigned correctly. An admin can check this in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center under Users > Active users.
    4. Update Microsoft 365: Make sure your Microsoft 365 apps are updated. Open Word, go to File > Account, and select Update options > Update now.
    5. Reset Activation State: If issues persist, consider resetting the activation state for Microsoft 365 Apps. Instructions can be found in the Microsoft documentation.

If after these steps you still cannot activate Word or edit documents, you may need to contact your Microsoft 365 admin for further assistance or check for any specific error messages that could guide the troubleshooting process.
