Learn moreIf you are unable to access your university account due to the Microsoft Authenticator app requesting a code that you cannot receive, it may indicate that your account has been compromised or that there are issues with your security settings. Here are some steps you can take to regain access:
- Check Security Info: If you can sign in briefly, go to Microsoft Account Security and review your security information, including phone numbers and emails. Remove anything unfamiliar.
- Alternative Recovery Options: When prompted for the Authenticator code, look for an option that says "I don’t have any of these". This may trigger an alternative recovery process.
- Contact Microsoft Support: If you suspect unauthorized access and cannot complete the two-factor authentication, contact Microsoft Support for assistance. You can explain your situation and request help with resetting your account.
- Secure Your Devices: Run antivirus scans on your devices to ensure that there are no lingering threats from the virus you mentioned.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to fill out the account recovery form, but be aware that it may not be effective if two-factor authentication is enabled.
