Hello,

For some reason the display language of MS Project cannot be changed from Czech to English. I am using Office 365 for business. I have changed the following language settings: Office user interface language (set as preffered) and languages for creating content and grammar check is set to English - see attached printscreen. The display language for Word & Excel is displaying correctly in English after the change. MS Windows language is Czech - ("The same like in MS Office") in the options but not selected.

Please support me.

Thanks!

Thank you for your fast response.

MS Project language setting.png This is the picture, I omitted Add pic button.

I am a regular user, not installing the software and not fully aware about which Office version is installed - I see only MS Copilot 365 in the applications list, being installed since I received the laptop, having Czech language are the primary one in the setup.

The same problem appeared already in the formu but probably not solved: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/5060108/incorrect-display-language-ms-project?source=docs

    Hello @Zbyněk Hovorka,

Thank you for reaching out to the Q&A forum!

Before providing more specific guidance, I would like to clarify a few points to better understand your scenario:

    1. I noticed that you mentioned an attachment in your description; however, I’m not able to see any attached files at the moment. Could you please share the attachment again so I can review it more accurately?
    2. Could you please clarify how Microsoft Project was installed on your device?
    3. Additionally, could you please let me know whether you are a regular user or a Microsoft 365 administrator?

When I test in my environment, after going Options => Language I set Office display language and Office authoring languages and proofing to English.

Microsoft Project was able to switch its entire interface to English successfully.

So, I will wait for the screenshots from you so that I can review the setup and continue researching the issue.

Please understand that our initial response may not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to identify the root cause and find a solution.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

It seems you are experiencing an issue with changing the display language in MS Project while it works correctly in Word and Excel. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue:

    1. Check Language Settings: Ensure that the preferred language for the user interface is set correctly in MS Project. Sometimes, settings may not apply uniformly across all Office applications.
    2. Office Deployment Tool: If you are using the Office Deployment Tool, ensure that the configuration file specifies the desired language correctly. The first language in the configuration file determines the Shell UI culture.
    3. Reinstall MS Project: If the language settings are not applying, consider uninstalling and then reinstalling MS Project to see if that resolves the issue. This can sometimes reset the language settings.
    4. Windows Language Settings: Even though you mentioned that Windows language is set to Czech, ensure that the display language in Windows is set to English if you want MS Project to reflect that change.
    5. Updates: Make sure that your Office 365 installation is up to date, as updates can sometimes fix bugs related to language settings.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to consult Microsoft support for further assistance.
