Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand that the sound on your Windows 11 computer suddenly stopped working and you need it restored urgently for a Zoom meeting.
Before proceeding, please confirm whether you have already tried all steps suggested by the Q&A Assist. The steps below are provided in addition to those suggestions:
1, Restart Windows Audio services
- Press Windows + R, type
services.msc, and press Enter - Restart Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder
2, Set the default playback device manually
- Open Control Panel
- Go to Sound
- Under the Playback tab, right-click your speaker or headphone device and select Set as Default
3, Disable audio enhancements
- Open Control Panel
- Go to Sound
- Select your playback device and choose Properties
- Go to the Enhancements tab and select Disable all enhancements, then apply the change
4, Check Windows communication sound settings
- Open Control Panel
- Go to Sound
- Select the Communications tab
- Choose Do nothing and apply the change
5, Roll back the audio driver
- Right-click Start and open Device Manager
- Expand Sound, video and game controllers
- Right-click your audio device, select Properties, then Driver, and choose Roll Back Driver if available
6, Verify audio is enabled in BIOS or UEFI
- Restart the computer and enter BIOS or UEFI settings
- Ensure onboard audio or HD audio is enabled
- Save changes and restart Windows
