i downloaded honeygain app i thought its unsafe so i uninstalled it from control panel and deleted my acc on honeygain is my device and network safe now pls reply im scared

    Hi,Did Windows flag it as a threat at any point? Are you still noticing any issues after uninstalling it?

    I ran a scan on the app, and only 1 out of 72 antivirus engines marked it as malicious. That usually points to a false positive, so the app is likely safe. That said, the engine that did flag it identified Adware.BrowserAssistant.Win32.1160, which is not a virus, but falls under PUP or Potentially Unwanted Program. These don't infect system files, but they usually show ads and hijack browser.

    If you’re not noticing any issues or unusual behavior in your browsers, your device should be fine. Since you’ve already removed the app and deleted your account, there’s really nothing to be concerned about.
