Hi, I'm Bernard, a fellow Windows user. I'm happy to help!

This issue happens when there is a miscalibration with Microsoft Edge. To sort out the issue, kindly follow the steps below:

    Method 1. Repair Microsoft Edge

Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & Features

Scroll down and click Microsoft Edge > Click Modify, then follow the prompt to repair.

Note: This is a non-Microsoft website. The page appears to be providing accurate, safe information. Watch out for ads on the site that may advertise products frequently classified as a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Products). Thoroughly research any product advertised on the site before you decide to download and install it.

If none of the above solutions work, I suggest doing an in-place upgrade, wherein it will update the device to the latest version and repair all issues without deleting any files.

There are several reasons why you might be unable to update Microsoft Edge, especially if you are receiving messages about needing to repair it or indicating that there is no internet connection. Here are some common causes:

    1. Permission Restrictions: Ensure that you have the necessary permissions to perform updates. Administrative privileges are often required.
    2. Network Issues: The error message about no internet connection could be due to actual network problems or DNS resolution failures. Check your internet connection and try to troubleshoot any network issues.
    3. Security Software Interference: Sometimes, antivirus or firewall settings can block the update process. Temporarily disabling such software may help.
    4. System Component Corruption: Corrupted system files can hinder the update process. Running system checks may resolve this.
    5. Residual Installation Artifacts: Previous installations or updates that did not complete properly can cause conflicts. Clearing these artifacts may be necessary.

To resolve the issue, you might want to try restarting your device, verifying your internet connection, and ensuring that no other installations are in progress. Additionally, running the update as an administrator can help.
