On the sign‑in screen, check the lower‑left corner for Other user or a list of users. If you see your original local account, select it and enter your usual password.
If the issue is persistent, you can consider this option:
Start Windows in Safe Mode
- On the sign‑in screen, select Power.
- Hold Shift, then select Restart.
- Choose Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
- When prompted, select 5 - Safe Mode with Networking, then try signing in again.
If the device is linked to an older Microsoft account, the supported recovery option is Microsoft Sign‑in Helper, which checks whether that account can still be accessed or recovered.
