GTA V freezing and texture issues on high-end PC with Windows 11 with no errors

Hello,

I am experiencing persistent stability issues with GTA V on Windows 11, and I am running out of ideas on how to diagnose the problem.

My PC configuration is high-end:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900X
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER
  • RAM: 64 GB (4×16 GB) Kingston Fury Beast
  • Storage: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2 TB (NVMe)
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 AORUS Elite AX V2
  • PSU: DeepCool PN850M (850W)
  • Cooling: DeepCool LT720 (AIO)
  • OS: Windows 11 (fully updated)
  • Monitor: ASUS ProArt, 2560×1440, 140 Hz

Despite this setup, the game behaves very unstable:

  • I sometimes fall through textures
  • The game randomly freezes or hangs
  • No error messages, no crash dialogs, no logs shown to the user
  • The game may stop responding completely and has to be force-closed

I have already:

  • Followed all troubleshooting steps available online
  • Tried all recommendations from Rockstar Games official support(Updating GPU drivers (NVIDIA) and CPU/chipset drivers, Disabling background applications and overlays, Verifying integrity of game files, Reinstalling GTA V, Reinstalling the official Rockstar Games Launcher, Launching the game both through Rockstar Games Launcher and via Play GTAV, Checking and repairing Windows system files (SFC / DISM))

• Testing different in-game graphics settings (from minimum to ultra)

• Verifying hardware stability and temperatures (no issues found))

  • Tested different graphics settings (from ultra to minimum)
  • Checked temperatures and hardware stability (no issues found)
  • Last thing that i did was fixing 10016 error by that tutorial but this didn't help

At this point, I honestly do not know what exactly I should provide for further diagnostics.

I am not a professional system engineer, and I have already tried everything I could reasonably find.

This is my last event log that heppened after last game, may be it will help:

03.02.2026 19:57:12	Service Control Manager	7045

03.02.2026 19:57:05	FilterManager	1

03.02.2026 19:46:12	IsolatedUserMode	2

03.02.2026 19:41:53	Time-Service	158

03.02.2026 19:40:21	Service Control Manager	7045

03.02.2026 19:39:58	FilterManager	6

03.02.2026 19:39:58	Service Control Manager	7045

03.02.2026 19:39:05	IsolatedUserMode	1

03.02.2026 19:39:05	IsolatedUserMode	5

03.02.2026 19:35:45	IsolatedUserMode	2

Could you please advise:

  1. What logs, system reports, or diagnostics are actually useful in this case?
  2. Should I provide Windows Event Viewer logs, DirectX diagnostics, GPU driver logs, or something else?
  3. Is this a known Windows 11 or driver-level issue that could cause freezes without errors?

I am fully willing to upload any required logs or reports - I just need guidance on what exactly is needed, because random guessing no longer helps.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Best regards,

Haipman

    Hi Иван Рогов,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum. I'm happy to help.

I understand that the issue is very inconvenience especially with a very powerful specification like you're having here.

I will try to suggest everything I could for you to troubleshoot, you may skip what you have already did.

    • Perform stress tests with your GPU by FurMark or OCCT.

Disclaimer: Microsoft provides no assurances and/or warranties, implied or otherwise, and is not responsible for the information you receive from the third-party linked sites or any support related to technology.

    • Enter your BIOS and disable overclocking, also with XMP profile.
    • Press Windows key > search for Core isolation > turn off Memory integrity.
    • Use a third-party tool like Memtest or Memtest86 for memory testing. It is recommended to run memory tests in DDOS or their standalone environments and run them for at least 3-4 cycles to ensure that memory is fully tested.

Additional, could you please provide me some further information:

    • Do you install any mods with GTA V, especially graphic mods?
    • Does the issue occur on any other games?
    • Did you try performing a clean install of Windows after you have the issue?

If you have any updates, please feel free to let me know.
