This problem seems to have started since I updated my phone to ios15 (it's now at is 15.01)
My organisation has their Office365 configured to require MFA. Previously after I attempted a login on Windows that requires MFA, when I opened the iPhone Authenticator app, it would prompt me for authentication. Now it just sits there. I can manually get a code but this doesn't work so well for the iPhone Teams app.

It is suggested to contact your IT admin to disable and re-enable MFA for you in Microsoft 365 admin center.
- Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center.
- Go to Users > Active users.
- Click on Multi-factor authentication tab option.
- Select your account
- Click Disable on the right side and then repeat the steps to re-enable MFA.

2021-10-08T08:34:55.653+00:00 Hi Sharon, I don't have access to the AAD. I think you're right - this is a question more for the Authenticator app team. The difference seems to be related to the fact that since iOS15 the App no longer receives focus when Azure AAD requests MFA

I added another tag azure-ad-multi-factor-authentication which maybe benefit to your problem. Hope you get better response.
