Hi. Any suggestions on how to fix the sound quality in Teams? It is very tinny and hard to hear.

The same speaker used for meetings works great in other applications. Appreciate any help.

To improve sound quality in Microsoft Teams, you can try the following steps:

    1. Disable Audio Enhancements: Sometimes, audio enhancement settings can negatively affect sound quality. To disable these settings:
      • Go to Settings on the Teams Rooms device console.
      • Select Windows Settings and sign in as an administrator.
      • Open Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound.
      • On the Playback tab, select your audio device and click Properties.
      • Go to the Advanced tab and uncheck Enable audio enhancements. Repeat this for the Recording tab as well.
      • Restart the Teams Rooms device.
    2. Update Drivers: Ensure that your audio drivers are up to date. Patching network, audio, and USB drivers can resolve many quality issues.
    3. Check Network Connection: If you are using Wi-Fi, consider switching to a wired Ethernet connection, as meeting room devices require stable and high-speed connections for optimal performance.
    4. Use Certified Devices: Ensure that you are using Teams-certified audio devices, as these are designed to work better with Teams and can help reduce sound quality issues.
    5. Adjust Audio Settings in Teams: Check the audio settings in Teams to ensure the correct microphone and speaker are selected. You can do this in the Teams app under Settings > Devices.

By following these steps, you should be able to enhance the sound quality during your Teams meetings.

Hi! Let me help you with this issue.

Click on the Sound icon and then click on the icon to Select Sound Output, and then scroll it down until you reach the Volume Mixer, make sure to adjust the Volume for Microsoft Teams (Teams should be open).

    I figured out the problem:

    1. I have an issue with opening meetings in the desktop app. When I click on a meeting link through Outlook (in a meeting invite) I get an error saying that there are no programs associated with the link type. This forces me to start the meeting in a browser. This is where the sound it bad.
    2. In trying to figure out a solution, I realized that all of my Teams meeting are also in my Teams calendar (didn't realize this was an option in the free version). When I open the link through the calendar, it opens the desktop app. Through the desktop app the sound is perfect.

    A few notes/questions:

I still don't know how to fix the browser sound issue.

When I open up the Volume Mixer with Teams open, no there is nothing listed for Teams. However, when I start a meeting, 2 Teams volume sliders are visible.
