If you are unable to log into your Windows account due to two-step authentication (2SA) and are waiting for a data change, unfortunately, there are limited options available. Here are a few suggestions that might help:

    1. Use Recovery Options: If you have set up any recovery options, such as security questions or an alternative email, try using those to regain access to your account.
    2. Access via Safe Mode: You can try booting into Safe Mode. This sometimes allows you to bypass certain login requirements. To do this, restart your PC and repeatedly press the F8 key (or Shift + F8) before Windows starts loading. From there, select Safe Mode and see if you can log in without the 2SA prompt.
    3. Microsoft Account Recovery: If you have a Microsoft account, you can try to recover it by visiting the Microsoft account recovery page. This may allow you to regain access without waiting for the 30-day period.
    4. Contact Microsoft Support: If none of the above options work, your best bet may be to contact Microsoft Support directly for assistance. They may have additional options for verifying your identity and helping you regain access to your important data.

Unfortunately, if you cannot access your account and do not have recovery options set up, you may need to wait for the 30 days to complete the data change process.

    Hi duro skorupski,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

I'm sorry to hear that you're locked out of your own PC and I know how stressful it is. Unfortunately, like what the Q&A Assist has explained, the 30‑day protection period cannot be shortened or overridden, even by Microsoft Support.

It is an automated security lock that protects your account from takeover, and that would be ineffective if it can be easily bypassed.

For now, if you need to use the PC or/and access some content in it, I have a workaround that you can try. However, please note that this is not 100% confirmed to work, as each PC has different level of security measures:

    1. Enter Windows Recovery Environment:
      1. On the sign‑in screen, hold Shift and click Restart (the power icon)
      2. Keep holding Shift until you get to WinRE - a multiple-option menu.
      3. If it doesn't work, you need to enter by force shutting down PC 3 times.
    2. In WinRE, choose Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Command Prompt.
    3. Type the following (replace the name/password if you want):
      1. net user TempAdmin StrongPassword123 /add
      2. net localgroup administrators TempAdmin /add
    4. Restart PC and try to log in using TempAdmin and StrongPassword123
    5. If it fails, you might need to enable the built-in Administrator instead:
      1. Go back to Command Prompt > run net user Administrator /active:yes
      2. You can restart and login that account (usually has no password)
      3. When you’re done, disable with net user Administrator /active:no
    6. Now you may be able to use your PC normally while waiting.

If any step shows a different message on‑screen, or there’s something that doesn't match what you see, let me know. I’ll help you adjust!
