When trying to launch R6, Batlleye causes kernel security check failure. I've tried reinstalling Batlleye, reinstalling R6, verifying game files, different xmp profiles, updating drivers, updating BIOS and the only thing that helped was unplugging my audio interface (scarlett 4i4). I've read that other people had the same issue with different hardware such as stream deck, wheel/pedals or bluethooth adapter. Is there any other way how to fix this issue, beside me having to change my whole audio setup when playing R6?

    Hi petr sedivy,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

I’m sorry you’re running into a Kernel Security Check Failure when launching Rainbow Six with BattlEye. From community reports, you're not alone facing this issue. It seems to be due driver conflicts with BattlEye anti-cheat and certain USB audio interfaces/devices. Besides what the Q&A Assist suggested above, I have some other alternatives that you can check out to see if it helps at all:

    1 - Use different USB ports/controller

    • Connect your Scarlett to another USB port (e.g. USB 2.0, black port)
    • Try different USB controllers:
      • Front panel vs rear motherboard ports
      • USB ports directly on motherboard vs hub/dock
      • USB ports from different chipset (Intel vs AMD chipset ports)

2 - Disable USB Selective Suspend

    • Open the classic Control Panel > Power Options > Change plan settings
    • Choose Change advanced power settings > expand USB settings
    • If you see USB-related or selective suspend setting > Disable > Apply.

    3 - BattlEye-specific settings

    • Run as Administrator:
      • Right-click the game shortcut or .exe > choose Properties
      • In Compatibility tab, check Run this program as an administrator
    • Clean reinstallation:
      • Open File Explorer, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\BattlEye
      • Run the uninstall .exe > Delete the entire BattlEye folder completely.
      • Press Win + R > type regedit > press Enter > delete the game folders
      • At HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BEService
      • And at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\BattleEye
      • Restart and launch R6 again, let it reinstall BattlEye fresh.

4 - Increase Timeout Detection Recovery

    • Open Registry Editor (as instructed above)
    • Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\
    • Right-click GraphicsDrivers > New > DWORD (32-bit) Value
    • Name it TdrDelay and set value to 8 (decimal) > Restart PC

Disclaimer: Generally, modifying registry subkeys or work group is intended for advanced users, administrators, and IT Professionals. It can help fix some problems, however, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For further protection, first check out How to back up and restore the registry in Windows - Microsoft Support

If nothing works, and since you found that this might be a widespread problem, consider reporting it to Ubisoft or BattlEye Support directly. I hope that the above information can help with your situation somewhat!

It seems that the kernel security check failure you are experiencing when launching R6 with Battleye could be related to hardware compatibility issues, particularly with your audio interface or other peripherals. Since you've already tried several troubleshooting steps like reinstalling Battleye, verifying game files, and updating your BIOS, here are a few additional suggestions:

    1. Update Drivers: Ensure that all your device drivers, especially for your audio interface and any other peripherals, are up to date. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause conflicts.
    2. Check for Conflicting Software: Some software, especially those that interact with hardware (like audio interfaces, game controllers, etc.), can cause conflicts. Try disabling or uninstalling any non-essential software that might be running in the background.
    3. Test with Different USB Ports: If your audio interface is USB-based, try connecting it to different USB ports on your PC. Sometimes, certain ports can have issues that others do not.
    4. Disable Unused Hardware: If you have peripherals that you are not using (like a stream deck or Bluetooth adapter), try disabling them in the Device Manager to see if that resolves the issue.
    5. Windows Updates: Make sure your Windows operating system is fully updated, as updates can sometimes resolve compatibility issues.
    6. Contact Support: If the problem persists, consider reaching out to the support teams for both R6 and Battleye, as they may have specific solutions for known issues related to hardware compatibility.

If unplugging your audio interface resolves the issue, it may be worth considering a different audio setup or checking with the manufacturer for any firmware updates that could improve compatibility.
