We have two accounts but don't appear to have admin rights to either to change settings in Teams to allow other team members to join as co-organisers. Currently only the host or organsier can open a Teams meeting and then allow others to join from lobby.

    Hello @Erin McEachren,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A Forum!

I would like to clarify one point first, to make sure I fully understand your request. Are you looking for a way to allow participants to join the meeting without waiting in the lobby (for example, to bypass the lobby)?

If that is the case, the meeting organizer can manage this directly when creating the meeting. While setting up the meeting, the organizer can go to “Meeting options”, then under Who can bypass the lobby, select “Everyone".

With this setting, participants will be able to join the meeting without waiting for manual approval from the host.

Additionally, I noticed that you mentioned: “We have two accounts but don't appear to have admin rights to either to change settings in Teams.”  To better assist you, could you please confirm whether you are an end user within the tenant or an IT administrator for your organization?

This information will help me understand whether the changes you are trying to make should be configured at the meeting level by the organizer, or at the tenant level by an admin through Teams policies in the Admin Center.

Once I have this clarification, I will be happy to guide you further.

Thank you, and I look forward to your response.

To allow other team members to join as co-organizers in Microsoft Teams, you need to have the appropriate admin rights to change the meeting policies. If you currently do not have admin rights on either of your accounts, you will need to contact your organization's IT administrator to request access or to have them make the necessary changes.

The admin can manage lobby settings and policies in the Teams admin center, specifically under the Meeting policies section. They can set who can admit participants from the lobby and allow co-organizers to be added to meetings. Without admin rights, you won't be able to change these settings yourself.

If you are an IT admin or can gain access, you can follow these steps to manage the settings:

    1. In the Teams admin center, expand Meetings and select Meeting policies.
    2. Choose the policy you want to update.
    3. In the Meeting join & lobby section, update the settings accordingly.

Changes can take up to 24 hours to take effect after being saved.
