Meeting Recording Not Showing Presented Slides

Question

Hello, I hosted a meeting sharing slides using the new Presenter View feature in a Teams meeting. Everyone in the meeting could see the slides. When I reviewed the recording, those slides were nowhere to be found. Why did this happen,n and how can I prevent this in the future?

Two main questions off the back of this:

1. Can this be remedied so that the recording shows all the slides that were presented?
2. What shall I do to prevent this from happening in the future

Regarding that that you hosted a Teams meeting using the new Presenter View (PowerPoint Live) feature, participants were able to see the slides during the meeting, but the slides did not appear in the meeting recording afterward.. How did you share the slides during the meeting? 

• Did you use Share → PowerPoint Live (Presenter View)? 
• Or did you share your entire screen or a specific window? 

Was the meeting recorded by you or by another participant? 

• If another participant started the recording, do they have the same experience when viewing it? 

Is this behavior consistent? 

• Does this happen with every meeting recording using PowerPoint Live? 
• Or did it occur only recently or in a specific meeting?

When using the Presenter View feature in Microsoft Teams, it's important to note that the recording captures the content that is actively being shared. If the slides were visible to the participants but not included in the recording, it may be due to how the content was shared or the settings used during the meeting.

1. Remedy for Current Recording: Unfortunately, if the slides were not recorded, there is no way to retrieve them from the existing recording. The recording captures only what was shared at the time, and if the slides were not part of that shared content, they won't appear in the recording.
2. Preventing Future Issues: To ensure that slides are recorded in future meetings:
   • Make sure to share the entire screen or the specific window displaying the slides rather than just using the Presenter View. This way, the recording will capture everything that is visible to the audience.
   • Familiarize yourself with the settings of the Presenter View to understand how it interacts with the recording feature. You can also refer to the documentation on sharing slides to ensure you are using the feature correctly.
