My Microsoft PowerPoint is not responding. All trials and updates have been made, refreshed, and reported, and the Apple support team has been contacted; all support has yielded no results. I was asked by Apple Support Customer Services to contact you for help.

Hello Asmaan Imran Adam, thank you for posting in the community.

Are there any third‑party PowerPoint add‑ins installed? As a next step, please try starting PowerPoint in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key while launching the application. If PowerPoint works correctly in Safe Mode, this typically indicates that the issue is caused by add‑ins or corrupted preference files.

If the issue still occurs while in Safe Mode, proceed with removing the PowerPoint preference and cache files. Please quit all Office applications, then navigate to ~/Library/Containers and delete the Microsoft PowerPoint folder. After that, navigate to ~/Library/Group Containers and delete the UBF8T346G9.Office folder. Once completed, restart the Mac and relaunch PowerPoint to test.

    Kind regards,

    John Oli

If your Microsoft PowerPoint is not responding, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

    1. Check Hard Disk Name: Ensure that your hard drive has a proper name (not just numbers or special characters). You can rename it if necessary.
    2. Move AutoRecovery Files: Sometimes, too many AutoRecovery files can cause issues. Move these files to another folder to see if it resolves the problem. You can find them in user\Documents\Microsoft User Data\Office 2008 AutoRecovery or Office 2011 AutoRecovery.
    3. Remove PowerPoint Preferences: Quit all Microsoft Office applications, then navigate to the Preferences folder in your Library and look for files named com.microsoft.powerpoint.plist and com.microsoft.powerpoint.prefs.plist. Move them to the desktop and restart PowerPoint to see if the issue persists.
    4. Create a New User Account: Sometimes, user-specific information may be corrupted. Create a new user account and test PowerPoint there.
    5. Test in Safe Mode: Boot your Mac in Safe Mode to see if PowerPoint works. If it does, the issue may be related to background programs.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to consider reinstalling PowerPoint or reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance.
