On my desktop, I have 4 email addresses set up in Outlook, one of which is my Microsoft account address. They work fine, and have for many years. On my mobile phone, in the mobile app, I can't send or receive anything using my primary account name, address etc. If I try and reload it, it won't log me in. I have removed the app, and reloaded it at least 20 times this week, after following various steps. The address is there, shown in the account name, but it won't do the mail bit. Getting desperate, and depressed. I've been at it for 4 days now! I've tried setting it as an imap account, which is is on my desktop, using the same settings and passwords, but it doesn't work. I tried setting up an outlook alias, it didn't work.

Hi! In the Outlook app, if this is a Microsoft account, when you choose to add the account, without changing it to IMAP, what's the error message that you get?

It sounds like you're experiencing significant issues with your Outlook mobile app. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue with sending and receiving emails:

    1. Check Connectivity: Ensure that your mobile device has a stable internet connection. Sometimes, connectivity issues can prevent the app from functioning correctly.
    2. Use Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant: You can download the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant to help diagnose and fix issues with your email account.
    3. Reinstall the App: Since you've already tried reinstalling the app multiple times, ensure that you completely remove any cached data associated with the app before reinstalling it again.
    4. Account Settings: Double-check the account settings in the mobile app. Ensure that the email address, password, and server settings (IMAP/SMTP) are correctly configured. You might want to refer to the settings used on your desktop to ensure consistency.
    5. Autodiscover: If you are having trouble with the Autodiscover feature, you can try setting up your email account manually without using Autodiscover. Instructions for this can be found in the Microsoft documentation.
    6. Check for App Updates: Ensure that your Outlook app is updated to the latest version, as updates often include bug fixes and improvements.

If these steps do not resolve your issue, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance.
