Microsoft charity account - transfer to another free account

Question

We are a small charity and we've been advised our non profit premium 365 is coming to an end.

We want to keep our 1x 365 account/ only have one user going forward - is there a still a free or very low cost package for small non profits we can migrate to?

What is the method for doing this?

Hello

The only free license is Microsoft 365 Business Basic, however, it doesn't come with desktop version of the Office apps. You would have to use web based via www.office.com. You still have the Exchange email account, you still have Teams and OneDrive.

Otherwise, in your Admin Center https://admin.microsoft.com, Look under Billing > Purchase products, search for Microsoft 365 Business Standard, make sure you view it in the Nonprofit tab, it will show you the discounted price. That one is a bit cheaper than premium, and it should also come with discount. And it has the desktop version for the apps.

Microsoft provides up to 300 granted licenses of Microsoft 365 Business Basic for nonprofits, which is a suitable option for small organizations. To migrate to this plan, you will need to manually complete the following steps within the Microsoft 365 admin center:

1. Select the Microsoft 365 Business Basic grant or another Microsoft 365 offer for nonprofits through the admin center.
2. Confirm the licenses are present in your tenant.
3. Replace the licenses by selecting your user with the current premium license and choose to replace this user's license with the Business Basic grant.
4. Cancel your current subscription to the premium plan once the transition is complete.

It is recommended to work with your current Microsoft partner or engage a new partner to assist with the planning and execution of this transition to ensure a smooth process and avoid any data loss.
