Without this app working properly my son cannot use this computer. that defeats the entire purpose of him having it. I a tired of chat and robots. I have spent days and hours trying to resolve this. If the app/computer cannot do what I need just tell me. I will return the computer.

These prepopulated responses are irritating. What I need is not here. I am starting to regret buying another microsoft computer. Family safety should not be this difficult.

    Hi @Cheron Butler-Thomas,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you for reaching out. I understand the importance of the Microsoft Family Safety features in ensuring a secure digital environment for your family. To help restore functionality and ensure the service operates as intended, please follow these prioritized troubleshooting steps:

    1/ account verification:

    • On your son’s computer, navigate to Settings > Accounts > Your Info.
    • If you see a "Verify" link or a message stating "You need to fix your account," please select it and follow the prompts.
    • Synchronization is often suspended until the Microsoft account is re-authenticated on the local device.

    2/ verify account permissions:

    • Ensure your son’s profile is configured as a Standard User rather than an Administrator.
    • Administrator privileges can inadvertently override Family Safety restrictions (this can be verified under Settings > Accounts > Other users).

    3/ system synchronization:

    • Ensure the device is fully updated by going to Settings > Windows Update and selecting Check for updates.
    • Additionally, ensure your son is signed into the device with the exact email address associated with your Family Group.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please let me know so I can provide more specialized technical diagnostic steps.

It sounds like you're experiencing significant frustration with the Family Safety app on your Microsoft computer. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check for Updates: Ensure that both Windows and the Family Safety app are up to date. Sometimes, issues can arise from outdated software.
    2. Reinstall the App: If the app is not functioning correctly, try uninstalling and then reinstalling it. This can often resolve glitches.
    3. Review Settings: Double-check the settings within the Family Safety app to ensure everything is configured correctly for your son's account.
    4. Use Microsoft Support: If the problem persists, consider reaching out to Microsoft Support directly for assistance. They may have specific solutions for issues with the Family Safety app.
    5. Community Forums: You can also check Microsoft community forums for similar issues and solutions shared by other users.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be worth considering whether the computer meets your needs or if returning it is the best option for you.
