Hi @Lucy Xenophon,
Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.
Thank you for contacting us. I would like to provide you with the following information.
I noticed that you previously posted a question related to being unable to access your business account in order to cancel a subscription.
Please note: On this forum, moderators can only provide basic troubleshooting steps and guide you to the appropriate Microsoft support team. Moderators cannot directly assist with the following actions:
- Restoring account access or resetting MFA
- Directly assisting with subscription cancellation or account termination
These actions can only be performed by the appropriate dedicated Microsoft teams.
How to contact the relevant support teams
Please look up the appropriate support phone number for your region and call Microsoft’s frontline support. Then, ask them to create a ticket for you through the following link: Customer service phone numbers – Microsoft Support
IVR (Automated Phone System) guidance
To make the call smoother, you may refer to the instructions below:
- When calling the support number, you may hear an introduction for about 30 seconds (for example: “You can visit the link…”). You can skip this and wait until the system provides options.
- Then:
- Press “1” – as a business email user
- Press “1” again – to select technical support
In some regions, the system may be fully automated. You can prepare the following sample answers in advance:
- What kind of problem are you experiencing? → Authenticator
- What products do you use? → Office 365 for Business
- Is this for an education or company account? → For companies
- Are you an administrator? → Yes
- Are there any other administrators in your organization? → No. I am the only admin in my tenant
- Do you need a service request? → Yes. I need to create a ticket. Please send me directly to the Data Protection Team.
This information helps the Data Protection Team verify your identity and safely assist you in restoring access and canceling the subscription.
Temporary workaround if phone support is unavailable
If you are still unable to contact support by phone, you may consider the following temporary solution:
- Register a new Microsoft 365 tenant (trial version) here: Microsoft 365 Business Plans and Pricing | Microsoft 365
- After the new tenant is created, access the Admin Center, create a support ticket, and request assistance from the Billing Team on behalf of your original tenant.
When creating the ticket, you should use the following title to help route the request more quickly: Request to cancel subscription
Important notes:
- This trial tenant does not grant access to data or settings of the original locked tenant. It is only used as a temporary method to contact Microsoft Support.
- Be prepared to verify your identity and provide proof of administrative ownership of the locked tenant.
- The resolution process may take longer since you are contacting support from a different tenant.
- Do not forget to cancel the trial subscription of the new tenant after the issue with your original account has been resolved to avoid unexpected charges.
I hope the information above is helpful. Please follow the steps and let me know the result. If the issue is still not resolved, we can continue working together to find a suitable solution.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments so I can continue supporting you.
I look forward to continuing our discussion.
