Hi,

I have the Surface pro and the hinge was hyper extended. Now when I pull out the stand in back it goes out to far on that side and is started to have a mark on that side. I'm looking to get it serviced before my warranty runs out on 3/19/26. The problem is im currently in school and need a computer to work with so Im iffy about sending it in as I'm assuming itll probably take weeks to get it back. I tried to do the in-person service with you break it i fix it but they said they were not able to do this repair. So Im unsure of what to do. I did however find out today there's something I believe is called a advanced exchange which id be able to get a replacement or loaner and then use that in the mean time while I send out my computer to be fixed. But when I look on my surface pros device and repair section it says only the option to send it in or go to UbreakIfix. So my question is do I qualify for an loaner/ or advanced exchange while I send mine in? Or is there anything else I can do in this situation so im able to have a computer for school? Thanks!

Kindly go through the following Microsoft reference article:

Advanced Exchange replacement for Surface devices

If you don't see Advanced Exchange as an option, you probably don't qualify for it. Contact Support to confirm. You're still covered for repair/replacement under warranty—just decide whether to send it in now or wait until your break when you can be without it.
