Hi @SeanA
Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum and thank you for taking the time to share what you’re experiencing with the new Outlook. I understand how important it is to keep related messages organized, especially when your workflow depends on having replies saved in the same folder as the original email.
At the moment, the new Outlook does not yet include the option that automatically stores replies in the original message’s folder. Instead, all replies are saved to the Sent Items folder, regardless of where the initial email is stored. I know this can interrupt established workflows, so I appreciate you highlighting how this change impacts your daily tasks.
To help you continue working efficiently, here are a few options you might consider:
1. Use a Power Automate workaround (recommended by many users)
Some users have had success with a free Power Automate flow called KeepRepliesInFolder, which moves your sent replies into the same folder as the original message automatically. Many customers find this workaround helpful while waiting for the feature to return.
If you’d like to set this up, I’d be happy to guide you through the process. You can also review the template here:

2. Manual option (temporary alternative)
If Power Automate doesn’t suit your environment, you can continue manually moving replies into the correct folder when needed. This is not ideal, but it may help maintain organization until additional options become available.
I also want to thank you for raising this as a feature request. Your suggestion is genuinely valuable. Clear, real‑world feedback like yours helps the product team understand which features users rely on most. Sharing your idea through the Microsoft 365 Feedback Hub is the most effective way to ensure it reaches the engineering team for review and consideration in future updates.
