Typing delay in Copilot chat on Windows Edge

I’m experiencing a consistent typing delay in the Copilot chat input on Edge in Windows 11. The lag appears at the beginning of every line I type, and it gradually becomes worse the longer the session runs.

The issue occurs only on my new Surface Pro with Snapdragon, on the old Surface Pro with Intel there is no delay at all.

Edge on snapdragon sometimes stalls the ui thread right before the input compositor starts that’s the first‑keystroke lag ur seeing. intel skips that path entirely, so the delay never appears there.

Just wanted to check, have you noticed this typing delay only in Microsoft Edge, or does it also happen when using Copilot in the standalone app or in other browsers like Chrome?

It is only in the Chat Window in Edge.

The delay sometimes is 20 sec. That is hardly usable.

I see the same on Intel x64 cpu. It started late 2025. It's slow to start the Copilot Chat in Edge, (Sidebar) and when it's loaded, it is also a long delay to activate the prompt field. totaly maybe 30-40 seconds.
