Microsoft Word does not open on my mac

I get the message "The application "Microsoft Word" can't be opened." when I try to open Word on my Mac. Does anyone know how to fix this. I have reloaded Microsoft Office already and it did not help.

For a reinstall to fix Office, you must first uninstall: Uninstall Office for Mac Then reinstall from the Subscriptions page of your Microsoft account.
