Hi! Let me help you with this issue.

If you suspect a virus infection, please follow the steps below.

Please follow the steps below on how to scan your machine further.

Please also try Microsoft Safety Scanner - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/security/intelligence/safety-scanner-download?view=o365-worldwide

    And follow these additional steps.

Uninstall an unwanted application in Programs and Features.

Go to Start, type in Control Panel, then go to Programs and then Programs and Features, then go to the list of programs, look for anything unusual or any application that you are not aware right click then uninstall it.

Delete Temporary files on Windows 10.

Tap the Windows Key, then R on your keyboard, in the Run box type in %temp%, then press Enter.

Once it is up, highlight all then delete, if there is a filé open that can't be deleted, just skip it.

    I hope this helps.

If the above scanner did not detect any, please use these 3rd party tools.

Let's try downloading the free version of Malwarebytes, it is a freeware that you can use to scan, detect, and delete viruses like the one you currently have.

You can download the free version from this link

Once installed, please make a full scan. You may remove this software once you are done with it.

You can also try an online malware scanner - https://www.eset.com/int/home/online-scanner/

It sounds like you're experiencing significant issues with your PC after a possible virus infection. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problems:

    1. Boot into Safe Mode: Since your PC is lagging, try booting into Safe Mode. This mode loads only the essential drivers and services, which may help you access your system more smoothly. To enter Safe Mode:
      • Restart your computer and repeatedly press the F8 key (or Shift + F8) before the Windows logo appears.
      • Select "Safe Mode" from the menu.
    2. Run System File Checker Again: If you can access Safe Mode, run sfc /scannow again to check for and repair any corrupted system files.
    3. Use Windows Recovery Options: If Safe Mode is not accessible, try using Windows Recovery options:
      • Restart your PC and interrupt the boot process three times to trigger the Windows Recovery Environment.
      • From there, you can access "Troubleshoot" > "Advanced options" > "Startup Repair" or "System Restore" if available.
    4. Check Disk for Errors: You can also run the Check Disk utility to check for disk errors. In the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and press Enter. This will scan for and attempt to repair any disk issues.
    5. Consider a Reset: If the above steps do not resolve the issues, you may need to consider resetting your PC. You can do this from the Windows Recovery Environment by selecting "Troubleshoot" > "Reset this PC". Choose the option to keep your files if you want to avoid losing personal data.
    6. Backup Important Data: If you can access your files, consider backing them up to an external drive before proceeding with a reset or any drastic measures.

If all else fails, you might need to perform a clean installation of Windows, which will erase everything on the disk. Make sure to have a backup of your important files before doing this.
