Locked out of Account on my laptop
My name is <PII removed>, Gayle's husband. My laptop Windows account is locked out and I have tried multiple ways to reset mt account with no success. When I go through the reset process it tells me it doesn't recognize my username even though I have had a windows and MS 365 subscription for years. I would like to reset my password but can't because every where I go I have to sign in. Please advise on how to get this resolved, it has limited access to multiple websites. <PII removed> (PII Removed)
When I try to access website I get this pop-up:

2026-02-07T20:40:03.59+00:00 Ok, thanks. My first round trying to get access to my MS account (that led me to contact support ) I kept getting a message that stated MS could not locate my account using the Gmail address I have been using or years. I tried it again this morning and was in the process of setting up a passkey (encouraging) I received the message attached. Additionally I also get this message regularly trying to access websites during normal use since I was informed I was locked out. I did get through the passkey initiation (through the QR scan), but it would not connect.
Hope this helpsB

2026-02-06T13:54:40.0733333+00:00 The Laptop was originally provided by my employer for use during work. When it was time to replace it (every 3 years) they let me keep the laptop, but before I could take possession the wiped the hard drive. When I took possession I logged into my Microsoft account and and obtained MS 365 and updated windows. It has been working fine for the last 2 years, now I am locked out and can't get warm body to get this resolved. My Microsoft Online Login has not change since April 2025. I do have another login through IT for Microsoft Enterprise but don't see how this would affect my personal login. Just need it unlocked, its restricting access to a lot of personal work.

2026-02-06T08:29:12.2933333+00:00 Hello Brian Kasen,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.
Please understand that our forum is a public platform, and we will modify your question to cover your personal information in the description. Please notice to hide these personal or organization information next time you post error or some information to protect personal data.
I understand your frustration when you got locked out of your account. Before we proceed, may I know when did you get your Windows license from? Pro for Workstations is available to be purchased, it's just uncommon for individual user to use that version.
I'm waiting for your reply.
