I have a Retail digital Windows 10 Pro license linked to my Microsoft account. I replaced my CPU, updated BIOS, and upgraded from Windows 10 Pro to Windows 11 Pro for free. Was working for a few days and then stopped and said I need to activate windows. The license shows under my account, but Windows is not activating. I do have my windows 10 pro product key. I need a manual reassignment of my license. I do NOT need a new key and looking for some help with this. I have called microsoft support but was shrugged off saying I need to buy a new key. Any help with this?

Can you please type cmd in the search on the taskbar and hit enter to launch command prompt, then run the following command:

    slmgr /dlv

Then share a screenshot please. Thanks!

To reactivate your Windows 11 Pro license after hardware changes, you can try the following steps:

    1. Use the Activation Troubleshooter: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Activation. If you see an option to run the troubleshooter, do so. This may help in reactivating your license, especially if it recognizes that you have made hardware changes.
    2. Sign in with your Microsoft Account: Ensure that you are signed in with the same Microsoft account that is linked to your digital license. This can sometimes trigger the reactivation process.
    3. Manual Activation: Since you have your Windows 10 Pro product key, you can try entering it manually. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Activation, and select "Change product key" to enter your Windows 10 Pro key. This may help in reactivating your Windows 11.
    4. Contact Microsoft Support Again: If the above steps do not work, you may need to contact Microsoft support again. Explain that you have a digital license linked to your account and that you are seeking a manual reassignment of your license due to hardware changes. It may help to insist on your rights as a customer who has already purchased a license.
    5. Check Device List: Ensure that your device is listed under your Microsoft account. If it is not, you may need to unlink and relink your device.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, Microsoft support may be your best option for further assistance.
