I just got a new iPhone 17 and transferred my MS Defender app, however the VPN address did not transfer. I get a rotating note that I’m not connected immediately followed by by a note that I am connected. How do I fix this issue?

My VPN icon continually flashes on and off, and two notes continually rotates on my screen stating “You are currently off line” and “Your internet connection has been restored “. I just got a new iPhone 17 and transferred all my apps, so I’m guessing the VPN address associated with my MS Defender did not transfer over from my old phone. How do I fix this? It would be nice if I could find a MS Customer Service phone number, but haven’t been able to find one.

To resolve the issue with the Microsoft Defender VPN on your new iPhone 17, you may need to reconfigure the VPN settings since the transfer process might not have carried over the necessary configurations. Here are some steps you can follow:

    1. Check VPN Settings: Go to the Settings app on your iPhone, select General, then VPN. Make sure that the VPN configuration for Microsoft Defender is set up correctly.
    2. Disable and Re-enable VPN: You can try disabling the VPN and then re-enabling it. To do this, select the i button next to the Defender for Endpoint VPN and toggle off Connect On Demand. After that, you can toggle it back on.
    3. Restart Your Device: Sometimes, simply restarting your iPhone can resolve connectivity issues.
    4. Reinstall the App: If the problem persists, consider uninstalling and then reinstalling the Microsoft Defender app. This can help reset any configurations that may not have transferred correctly.
    5. Check Internet Connectivity: Ensure that your device has a stable internet connection, as this can also affect the VPN's ability to connect properly.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to reach out to Microsoft support for further assistance, as they can provide more specific guidance regarding your account and device settings.
