I am a user of Microsoft 365 Business Premium. Now I am downgrading to Microsoft 365 Business Standard. Do I need to purchase the Windows 11 operation system for my PC?

Hi Kathleen, Business Standard does not include Windows licensing. If your device already has an OEM (preinstalled on a new PC by the manufacturer, for example: Dell, HP, Lenovo, or Microsoft Surface..) or retail Windows license, you are fine. If not, you will need to purchase a Windows 11 license separately once you move off Business Premium.
If you are downgrading from Microsoft 365 Business Premium to Microsoft 365 Business Standard, you will need to purchase the Windows 11 operating system if your current device is not running a genuine version of Windows that qualifies for a free upgrade. Microsoft 365 Business Premium includes free upgrades to Windows 10 Pro or Windows 11 Pro only from genuine versions of Windows 7 Pro, Windows 8 Pro, or Windows 8.1 Pro. If your device is running Windows 10 Home or any non-genuine version, you will need to buy the upgrade to Windows 11 Pro separately.
