Dear Microsoft team,

I am writing to request assistance with a technical issue I am experiencing while trying to activate my Microsoft 365 student subscription. Although I have successfully added my academic email address and my payment information to the account, I am unable to complete the final activation. Every time I attempt to finalize the process, the system returns an error message stating, "Sorry, your academic status could not be verified."

Because of this failure, my subscription remains inactive despite my payment details being on file. I have confirmed that my institutional credentials are correct and active, so I would appreciate it if you could investigate why the system is unable to verify my status or provide an alternative way to complete this registration.

Thank you for your time and assistance in resolving this matter.

Best regards,

Sravanth

    Dear @sravanth potluri,

I understand you are trying to activate your Microsoft 365 Student subscription, but the system keeps saying your academic status cannot be verified, even though you entered your school email and payment details.

Please try to verify again by use your International Student Identity Card (ISIC) in use a different method

or select "I want to provide documentary proof" from the link Get verified nowUser's image

Then completing the form in Academic Verification and uploading a copy of one of the following documents:

    • Dated student ID card
    • Current student report card or progress report
    • Dated current class schedule
    • Acceptance letter to a school of higher education
    • Dated faculty ID card (except Imagine users)
    • Recent faculty/staff payment stub (financial information can be blacked out) (except Imagine users)

If you don't want to use your school email, please choose "I don't have an academic email" and fill the form below:

Accepted upload formats are jpg, jpeg, jpe, jfif, bmp, dib, png, gif, tif, tiff, pdf, doc, docx, zip. The document should not be greater than 10 MB.

Note: For academic status verification ‘school’ is defined to include ‘schools, universities, colleges, technical/STEM schools, and other academic schools’ throughout the verification process.

Please understand that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

I truly appreciate your patience and understanding. If you have any further questions or need further clarification, please feel free to reach out. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

It seems you are encountering an issue with verifying your academic status while trying to activate your Microsoft 365 student subscription. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve this issue:

    1. Check Your Academic Email: Ensure that the academic email address you are using is correct and that it is associated with your educational institution. Sometimes, the verification process relies heavily on the specific domain of your email.
    2. Contact Your Institution: Reach out to your institution's IT support or administration to confirm that your academic status is active and that there are no issues on their end that could affect the verification process.
    3. Try Again Later: Sometimes, the verification system may be temporarily unavailable. Wait for a while and try the activation process again.
    4. Use the Microsoft Support: If the issue persists, consider reaching out to Microsoft Support for further assistance. They may be able to provide more specific guidance or check the status of your account verification.
    5. Check for System Updates: Ensure that your browser or the Microsoft 365 app is up to date, as outdated software can sometimes cause issues with online services.

If you continue to experience difficulties, it may be helpful to provide Microsoft Support with any error messages you receive to expedite the troubleshooting process.
