When I access Outlook on my browser, it says that I have unread emails, but I am unable to see them, but I was able to see them on the Outlook app on my phone.

    Hello SQ

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand how confusing it is when Outlook web browser shows unread emails, but they don’t appear while everything looks fine on your phone.

I notice there's a Q&A Assist reply under your post. To avoid repeating it, could you tell me have you tried those steps yet, and what happens when you try?

In addition, please try the following steps:

    1. Double-check on Outlook on the web

    • Sign in to Outlook on the web in your browser
    • Ask someone (or use a different email account you own) to send a fresh test email to your Outlook address
    • Check all folders (Inbox, Junk Email, Deleted Items, Archive), ensure your inbox filter is set to All (not "Unread", "Flagged", etc.)
    • Check Focused / Other tab (if Focused Inbox is enabled), emails may land in Other. You can also temporarily turn Focused Inbox off to test.

    2. Check for hidden rules/forwarding

In Outlook on the web's settings, go to:

    • Settings > Mail > Rules/ Sweep: delete any suspicious rules you did not create (especially rules that moves/deletes mail)
    • Settings > Mail > Forwarding: make sure nothing is forwarding

    3. Check your internet connection

    • Make sure your device has a stable internet connection and try switching networks (e.g., from Wi-Fi to mobile hotspot) then test again.
    • Check from a different browser/device or from an InPrivate/Incognito window,

(If needed, you can then clear the browser cache/cookies for Outlook.com.)

Please feel free to let me know how it goes. Thank you for your time and understanding.

If you are unable to see new emails in Outlook Web despite being able to see them on your phone, it could be due to synchronization issues or filtering settings in your Outlook Web interface. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Refresh the Inbox: Sometimes, simply refreshing the page can help in loading new emails.
    2. Check Filters: Ensure that no filters are applied that might be hiding your emails. You can check the filtering options in the view settings.
    3. Clear Cache: Clearing your browser's cache can resolve issues related to loading content.
    4. Log Out and Back In: Logging out of your account and then logging back in can help refresh your session.
    5. Check Other Folders: Sometimes, emails may be directed to other folders such as Spam or Promotions. Make sure to check those folders as well.

If the issue persists, consider checking your email settings or contacting support for further assistance.
