    Hi @Reena Khaira

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Regarding the issue where you are unable to sign in to the admin account after changing the user name, I’d like to ask a few quick questions and share some initial guidance to better understand your situation and assist you effectively.

    • How long has it been since you changed the admin account user name?

If the change was made recently, please note that it can take 1 to 2 hours for the information to fully synchronize across Microsoft services. In the meantime, please try the following steps:

    • Wait for the sync to complete
    • Clear your browser cache or try signing in using an InPrivate/Incognito window
    • Attempt to sign in again after some time

If a significant amount of time has already passed and you still cannot log in to the admin account or access the associated email, please reply to this thread. I’ll be happy to guide you through the appropriate next steps to recover or restore access.

Thank you again for your time and understanding. While my initial response may not resolve the issue immediately, I’d like to gather more details about your situation so I can assist you more effectively.

I really appreciate your patience, and I’m here to help. Looking forward to your response.

If you have changed the main admin account username and are now unable to log in, you may need to follow these steps:

    1. Verify Admin Role: Ensure that you are still recognized as an admin in your organization. If the username change affected your admin status, you might need another admin to assist you.
    2. Contact Microsoft Support: If you are the only admin and cannot access your account, you will need to contact Microsoft support. They have tools to verify your identity and help you regain access to your account. You can find the appropriate support contact through the Microsoft support page.
    3. Consider Creating a New Tenant: If you cannot resolve the issue through support, you might consider setting up a new trial tenant to submit a support request. This will allow you to contact Microsoft support from a different account while you work on regaining access to your original account.
    4. Provide Necessary Information: When contacting support, be prepared to provide your locked account's email address, domain name, and details about the issue you are experiencing.

These steps should help you in regaining access to your admin account after changing the username.
