Product / Version: Outlook (Classic) - Microsoft 365 Apps Monthly Enterprise Channel - Version 2511 (Build 19426.20260) Windows 11 - HTML format “Show AutoComplete suggestions” enabled

Summary Until Dec 2025, AutoText / Quick Parts in Classic Outlook showed an inline suggestion (e.g., “Press ENTER to insert”) when typing a shortcut (e.g., siga). In recent builds, this no longer appears. AutoText still exists and works via F3, but the inline hint is gone.

Steps to reproduce

New HTML email in Classic Outlook

AutoComplete suggestions enabled

Type an AutoText name (e.g., siga)

Expected Inline suggestion with Enter-to-insert.

Actual No suggestion shown; only F3 works.

Impact Breaks a long-standing fast workflow and removes discoverability of AutoText.

Notes

Worked until ~Dec 2025

Settings are correct

Likely regression in recent editor updates

Workarounds

  • Use F3

Use AutoCorrect for short snippets

Request Please confirm whether this was intentionally removed or is a regression, and consider restoring the inline suggestion UI in Classic Outlook.Product / Version:

The issue you are experiencing with the inline suggestion for AutoText / Quick Parts in Classic Outlook not appearing is likely related to recent updates or changes in the editor. While the functionality of AutoText still exists and can be accessed using the F3 key, the absence of the inline suggestion could be a regression introduced in the latest builds. Unfortunately, without specific confirmation from Microsoft regarding whether this change was intentional or not, it's difficult to provide a definitive answer.

For now, your workarounds of using F3 or utilizing AutoCorrect for short snippets are valid options. If this feature is critical to your workflow, consider providing feedback to Microsoft through their support channels to request the restoration of the inline suggestion UI in Classic Outlook.
